Meet Our Providers
I am a board-certified, Texas grown, family physician with a special interest in sports/Integrative medicine. I am also a basketball player, a fantasy football champion, a video gamer and a karaoke enthusiast. Most importantly, I am a human being just like you!
I’ve also been a patient and experienced firsthand the shortcomings of our healthcare system including lack of compassion, insufficient patient education and non-transparency.
I founded Zhu Family Medicine to offer a better way.

I don’t have insurance, can I still receive care?
What insurances do you take?
How much will my visit cost with insurance?
This is a complex question as payment structure will vary depending on your individual insurance plan. We have listed some of the commonly used payment structures across most insurances.
Problem Visits (ex: knee pain, influenza, diabetes, hypertension, etc): These are general visits that address both acute and chronic problems. The cost to you is determined by the complexity of the presented condition along with your relevant deductible and copay costs.
Preventative Visits (Annual Physical): These visits help to prevent you from getting sick. They DO NOT cover acute/chronic condition management. However, unlike problem visits, commercial (non-Medicare) insurance will cover this once a year free of charge. A visit will typically consist of a physical exam along with age appropriate screening (ex: labs, colonoscopies, DEXA scans, etc)
Preventative Visits (Medicare Annual Wellness Visit): Think of these like “mini” physicals specific to Medicare patients. We say “mini” because, unlike traditional annual physicals offered by commercial plans, they focus on preventative health in the form of risk mitigation. These do not include a physical exam/screening labs/acute or chronic condition management.
What services do you offer?
Will I have to see a specialist?
The decision to see a specialist will vary on a case by case basis depending on the complexity of the patient’s problem.
